NDA Education Standard

NDA Educational Qualifications: For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent 6 examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

एनडीए शैक्षिक योग्यता: राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी के सेना विंग के लिए: राज्य शिक्षा बोर्ड या विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा आयोजित स्कूल शिक्षा के 10 + 2 पैटर्न के 12 वीं कक्षा पास या समकक्ष 6 वीं परीक्षा।

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

NDA Physical Ability

Physical Eligibility for NDA: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Exam as per guidelines mentioned in the NDA Program notification.

NDA Physical Height & Weight: The minimum acceptable height is 157 cms (162.5 cms for the Air Force), however, certain exceptions are allowed to candidates based on the region they belong to. The Physical standard for height,   weight & chest based on the age-group of the candidate is given below in the table:-

Relaxation in Physical Standard Height, Weight NDA Recruitment:-

• 10% variation on the higher side of average acceptable in Physical Standard of NDA.

• Height relaxable up to 2.5 cms where the Medical Board certifies that the candidate is likely to grow and come up to the required standard on completion of his training in NDA.

• Candidates from the hills of North-Eastern India, Gorkhas, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum height acceptable is 5 cms less than the above-mentioned figures for NDA entry.

• Exemption of 2 cms in minimum height standard is given to candidates of Lakshadweep region.

NDA Examination Eligibility: The candidates applying for the NDA examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the NDA examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.

• Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test.

NDA Application Procedure

How To Apply National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination: 

• Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form have been given in the Appendix-II (A) Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.

• The Commission has introduced the facility of withdrawal of Application for those candidates who do not want to appear for the Examination. In this regard, Instructions are mentioned in Appendix-II (B) of this Examination Notice.

• Candidate should also have details of one photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. The same photo ID card will also have to be uploaded with the Online Application Form. This photo ID will be used for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this ID while appearing for examination/SSB.

राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी और नौसेना अकादमी परीक्षा II का आवेदन कैसे करें:

Admit Card 

NDA Admit Card:  The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website www.upconline.nic.in for being downloaded by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid & active e-mail id while filling up online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.

The entrance for National Defence Academy comprises of a written exam followed by an Intelligence and Personality test. The written test consists of two papers.

एनडीए परीक्षा पैटर्न: राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी के प्रवेश में एक लिखित परीक्षा और उसके बाद एक बुद्धि परीक्षण और व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण शामिल है। लिखित परीक्षा में दो पेपर होते हैं।

Negative Marking in NDA Exam

Penalty For Wrong Answers NDA Examination: Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

• For both writing and marking answers in the OMR sheet (Answer Sheet) candidates must use black ball pen only Pens with any other colour are prohibited.
• Do not use Pencil or Ink pen.
• Candidates should note that any omission/mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling of details in the OMR answer sheet especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code will render the answer sheet liable for rejection. Candidates are further advised to read carefully the “Special Instructions” contained in Appendix-III of the Notice.

Mobile Phones Banned: It is not allowed to carry the mobile phone in the paper or exam hall, doing so may result in exclusion from the examination.

How to apply for NDA: Candidates are required to apply Online by using the website upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above-mentioned website.

NOTE-1: The applicants are advised to submit only single application; however if due to any unavoidable situation, if he submits another/multiple applications, then he must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants’ details, examination centre, photograph, signature, photo identity card document, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.

NOTE-2: NDA Candidate should also have details of one photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. नोट -3: सभी उम्मीदवार चाहे पहले से ही सरकारी सेवा में हों, जिनमें सशस्त्र बलों में सेवारत उम्मीदवार, भारतीय नौसेना के नाविक (लड़कों और आर्टिफिसर्स प्रशिक्षुओं सहित), राष्ट्रीय भारतीय सैन्य कॉलेज के कैडेट (पहले सैनिक स्कूल, देहरादून के रूप में जाना जाता था) के छात्र शामिल हैं। राष्ट्रीय सैन्य स्कूल (पहले मिलिट्री स्कूल के रूप में जाना जाता था) और सैनिक स्कूल सोसायटी, सरकारी स्वामित्व वाले औद्योगिक उपक्रम या अन्य समान संगठन या निजी रोजगार में संचालित सैनिक स्कूल सीधे आयोग को ऑनलाइन आवेदन करना चाहिए।

NDA Result

NDA Result: NDA Written Examination result will be announced as per date given in  NDA Notification for NDA Exxam-1 and NDA Exam 2 within one/two month after the examination. After result declaration, the NDA SSB round will be started.

परीक्षा परिणाम

एनडीए परीक्षा परिणाम: एनडीए लिखित परीक्षा परिणाम एनडीए परीक्षा -1 और एनडीए परीक्षा 2 के लिए एनडीए अधिसूचना में दी गई तारीख के अनुसार परीक्षा के एक / दो महीने के भीतर घोषित किया जाएगा। परिणाम घोषित होने के बाद, एनडीए एसएसबी साक्षात्कार का दौर शुरू किया जाएगा।

Application Fee:

Application Fee for NDA Entry: For online submission of application for NDA exam, application fee is Rs. 100. Candidates of ST/ SC/ NCOs/ OR/ Sons of JCos categories are exempted from the fee.

आवेदन शुल्क:

एनडीए प्रवेश के लिए आवेदन शुल्क: एनडीए परीक्षा के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन जमा करने के लिए, आवेदन शुल्क 100 रुपये है। अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति, सैनिक/ एनसीओ / या जेसीओ श्रेणियों के पुत्रों के उम्मीदवारों के लिए आवेदन निःशुल्क है।

Mode of Payment Fee

Mode of Pay Application Fee for NDA: Candidates (excepting SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs specified in Note 2 below who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/MasterCard/Rupay Credit/Debit Card.

How to Pay Fee for NDA Exam: Candidates are able to submit the application fee via online as well as offline mode. Online mode of payment includes credit card, debit card or net banking. For offline mode, SBI Bank challan method will be used to submit fee.

NDA Application Form: Candidates are required to go through following details regarding submission of NDA Application Form:-

• The NDA I application form is made available as per UPSC Notification for NDA recruitment program.

• For NDA II, candidates are able to fill form from as per UPSC notification for NDA exam date notification.

• Candidates are advised to fill all the asked & required details in the form as incomplete NDA application form will lead to rejection.

• Authority does not provide any correction facility in the NDA application form so candidates must fill the form carefully.

• During registration, candidates must also upload passport size photograph & signature in the prescribed format of NDA Online application.

• At last, candidates must not forget to take printout of filled in NDA application form for further use.
